WHAT SHE DESIRED

Meghan desired a successful business that runs effortlessly and supports a flexible schedule (because a #bosspreneur runs her business, not the other way around). Most importantly, Meghan wanted to find a way to relax around her business, be able to trust that no balls were being dropped when she wasn’t watching, and enjoy her time away at business retreats or on much-deserved vacations (like her then-upcoming honeymoon).

What’s a badass bosspreneur to do when there are more groans than moans in her business – and a heavenly honeymoon on the horizon that demands her full attention?

She calls Business Laid Bare (BLB) to help her set up smooth systems that support her every desire.

And by desire, we mean systems that create space and support around important activities so that not only will things get done on time – but with complete ease, plus give her the confidence she craves to maintain control while she was away (because micromanaging a business while on your honeymoon is a huge turn off).

PROJECT GOALS

Peace of mind, an organized plan, confidence, and solid foundations to allow for rapid business growth.

NEEDS LAID BARE

Meghan’s biggest challenge was that her current system wasn’t robust enough to handle growth or change. She was using a lot of sticky notes and notebooks (sound familiar?).

Things were not secure and scattered. Imagine the worry (or fear) of losing a sticky note. She said it stressed her out, and wanted to address it before she grew too big. And, being creative, analog (aka pen-and-paper)  was important, so the biggest challenge was making it all work for her: a win-win-win.

APPROACH LAID BARE

BLB isn’t about one-size-fits-all solutions. Humans just don’t work that way. And although we are complex creatures, that doesn’t mean the answer has to be complicated. Simplicity and success go hand-in-hand.

Meghan needed a system that worked for how her brain’s wired. She wanted a system that allowed her to see everything at once, but also a method in which she would only need to see “that day’s” tasks. She knew how she worked best and what things would cause her to go into overwhelm and procrastination. So, she desired something that worked for her.

PROCESS LAID BARE

Every single project starts at the beginning – the root of the problem.

Most times, that requires peeling away the many layers of bandaged “make-do” solutions that work… kinda, sorta, good enough, and  temporarily.

Using BLB’s framework approach, The Anatomy of a System, we really dive into the nitty gritty of what is working and what’s not, how our clients prefer to work, how their brain collects information and executes tasks, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and what skills, tools, and resources they have available to them.

Creating proper systems is a deep dive below the tip of the iceberg. After asking questions and researching habits, we spent our session actively brainstorming solutions and devising a solid actionable plan.

Then, we look for loopholes or areas that could break, and we address it – before anything goes wrong.  And then we also look for ways to streamline and automate.

Lastly, we look at the last piece of the puzzle: resources. What apps, additional software, and/or skills do they need to keep the plan in place and running consistently.

OUTCOME LAID BARE

Meghan was able to go on her honeymoon with great confidence and peace of mind. Because she was able to see everything in one place, she could shift things around so that she only needed to work, at most, 20 minutes a few days out of her trip.

Nothing was lost, nothing was dropped, nothing was late or overdue.

Meghan is now ready to hire a virtual assistant (VA) to offload some of the tasks of building her business. She can rest assured that her VA will execute to her business standards because her systems address it.

Bonus result: Putting these systems in place actually allows her to tackle the smaller tasks and break free from the handcuffs of 1:1 strategy serves so she can add more digital products to her list of offerings (which already include membership sites and e-courses) and, thereby, leverage her time and talents to bring in more money while working less (the orgasmic combo in business).

IN HER WORDS

“Even though I was feeling incredibly nervous about taking time off of work and worrying about what balls would get dropped, because of the work I did with Veronica, I was able to stop working completely when I went on my honeymoon. Thanks to the systems we created, I gave myself two weeks with my husband. I don’t think things would have gone that smoothly with my original way of doing things.” – Meghan Maydel

LESSONS LAID BARE

When faced with a problem or desire to grow, most people look for the easiest “answer”, meaning they either buy new apps or software or hire people. Almost always, the problem is not so obvious, and requires a deep dive into the root of the problem to really make it shine.
